Clara Nartey

Every now and then, I’m honored to be invited to speak. Recently, I had the opportunity to speak to the members of NSQG, (Northern Star Quilters’ Guild), in Bedford, New York. The topic of my lecture was, “Unlock Your Creative Potential”.

Talking about creativity, the creative spirit and how to express ourselves is something I enjoy doing. Teaching/lecturing affords me an opportunity to put more beauty out into the world by empowering others to express themselves through art. Moreover, I love meeting creative people. It’s a special feeling to be among like-minded people.

Creative people generally tend to be wonderful people to hang around. Their energy is infectious. It makes me want to go back into my studio to create. And this crowd in New York was no different. It was a large number of people in attendance- about one hundred in all.

Additionally, after my lecture, I had a trunk show of some artworks I had brought with me. Showing the work is always a crowd pleaser. Often, the works start new discussions on topics that I didn’t cover during the lecture. Unsurprisingly, after the audience had had a chance to experience the artworks, we had a very spirited question and answer time. Question and answer time could easily have gone on for another hour.

Thank you members of Northern Star Quilt Guild for inviting me to speak on Unlock Your Creative Potential. Judging from your reviews, you had a great time like I had. Thanks to all of you who came up to me after the lecture to tell me how much you enjoyed my lecture.

Here are some reviews for “Unlock Your Creative Potential”:

“I was thrilled by Clara Nartey’s presentation on Wednesday evening, and want you to know that she simply blew me away with her lovely presentation and astounding embroidered and quilted works of art.  What an impact she seemed to have on the attendees!”

“Thank you, thank you for finding her and scheduling her to come speak to our guild!”

“I signed up for her emails and now see that Yale University has just purchased 6 of her works of art for their permanent collection.  Her website is very interesting, and I have already been told by a fellow guild member that her Facebook and Instagram pages are filled with all kinds of information and videos.”

“I feel very inspired by seeing her work because, as she said, she developed her skills through ongoing practice using a home sewing machine.  I intend to keep following her work, and hope to see more of it in person in the future.”

Till next time,

Warm Regards,
