The Connecticut members of SAQA have put on a beautiful exhibition of textile art at the Guilford Art Center, Guilford CT.
Signs of Snow Storm Barbara still on the ground at Guilford Art Center
I have two pieces, “Piecing Beauty “and “Dancing“, in the show. Last Friday, Snow storm Barbara made sure the opening reception for this exciting exhibition could not come on. However, the show still goes on. The exhibition is opened till Feb 21,2016.

There are a total of 36 fine art quilts in the show. There are all types of genre and each piece is as beautiful as the other. Juror of selection, Carol Padberg, Associate Professor at the Hartford Art School – University of Hartford did an absolutely great job in selecting all these pieces. The exhibition is full of color.

The theme for the show is CT Stories. There’s a full color catalogue that goes along with the show which has all the artists’s statements about their Connecticut stories. The catalogue is available for sale in the Guilford Art gallery for the duration of the show. Be sure to pick up a copy, it’s a lovely thing to have.

Although, the opening reception at the Guilford Art Center, had to be cancelled due to last Friday’s snow storm, there’ll still be a celebration for the exhibition. This time it will be a reception on February 19, 2016 from 5-7 pm. Come out and see the work and meet the artists who created them. The exhibition is a traveling exhibition and future locations and dates will be announced.
You should stop by at the Guilford Art Center and see this beautiful exhibition of fiber and textile art. You’ll not be disappointed.
Warmest regards,
