Statement: This work depicts a tailor strip piecing woven strips of kente cloth to create patterns as in strip-piecing a quilt. This is done until a large piece of cloth is created. Traditionally, strip piecing and kente weaving are male jobs. This art is part of a three-piece series called Kente.
